Museum of Glass  in Tacoma for the 11th Annual Iittala Bird Lovers’ Weekend. A yearly celebration of the artistry of Professor Oiva Toikka – one of the most renowned names in glass art – the Bird Lovers’ Weekend will spotlight the imaginative, rich and bold glass Birds by Toikka via a special exhibit with various bird-making demonstrations by Iittala master glassblowers.

20th Annual Whatcom Artist Studio Tour

More than 50 Whatcom County artists will open their studios to the public during the 20th annual Whatcom Studio Artist Tour held the first two weekends of October 4-5 and 11-12 from 10 am to 5 pm daily. Each studio will present a wide selection of art for sale and artists will be available throughout the tour to meet with visitors and many will provide demonstrations of their craft.  Art represented on the tour includes clay, glass, handmade books, jewelry, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture and woodworking.  The event is free of charge, people of all ages are welcome and most studios are accessible.  Check the website for updates on venue openings and exhibition dates.
