DAdamo/Woltz Gallery, 307 Occidental Avenue S., exhibits work of local photographers in "Form, Light, Shadow"
until February 4. A 2007 PONCHO Best of Show winner (Evergreens), Patricia Ridenour, shows another side of her visual voice with Pompeii Angels (part of a collection at NOMA). Jesse Youngs black and white photographs and the landscapes of Lisa Jacoby are also included in the show.

Glasshouse Studio, 311 Occidental Avenue S., presents Christopher Sternberg-Powidzki who started blowing glass at the age of 15 at Thames Glass in Newport, Rhode Island. He has trained with Bennett Jordan, Lino Tagliapietra and Petr Novatny. Shown at the right is one of his pieces.
Lisa Harris Gallery, 1922 Pike Place in Seattle, opens First Thursday with a reception for Peter De Lory for his exhibit, "Balance, Recent Photographs," on view through December 29. The artists photographs are included in such museum collections as the Art Institute of Chicago, The Walker Art Center, San Francisco Museum of Art, Cincinnati Art Museum, Smithsonian, Seattle Art Museum, National Gallery of Canada, and in many universities and corporations nationwide. Pratt Fine Arts Center features an opening night party from 6-9pm in celebration of their holiday art sale. Pratt Gallery in the Tashiro Kaplan Building in Pioneer Square features Pratt jewelry artists and Washington State Enamelists partnering to display a wide variety of work. The show focuses on enamels and the community of artists working in this medium and will be on view until December 29.

SOIL Gallery, 112 3rd Ave South, team up to present the work of 16 artists from across the US and beyond. Nearly 1000 entries were submitted from more than 300 artists. Juried by Eric Fredericksen, director of Western Bridge, this exhibition includes a focused assemblage of photography, video, sculpture, ink on paper, cough drop labels and other mixed media. Themes include spills, spots, piles, trash, smoke, mirrors, bread, sunsets, Jesus, trees, motor homes, and a poodle. On view

Traver Gallery Seattle, 110 Union Street
, presents "Move, "a solo exhibition of new work by Seattle artist Richard Royal. The show features a selection of large-scale, solid-worked glass sculptures from the artist's Aperture series. Royal at Pilchuck Glass School where he assisted artists such as Dale Chihuly, William Morris and Benjamin Moore. His work is included in numerous public and private collections and has been shown at galleries and museums throughout the United States.
Also showing is "Touch," a solo exhibition featuring new sculptures by French glass artist Nadège Desgenétez. Nadège has received numerous prizes and awards throughout the years, including the Prix d'Honneur de la Fondation de France and the Prix de la Vocation from the Fondation Marcel Bleustein Blanchet. She has completed artist residencies at Northlands Creative Glass in Scotland, Pittsburgh Glass Center and the Museum of Glass in Tacoma. The research and making of the work for the exhibition Touch was made possible by the support of the Australia Council for the Arts and Arts ACT. Both exhibits are on view through January.
