An explanation and an apology

Anyone who tried to get on this site yesterday saw a weird guy and heard some Turkish music. We were hacked, and it has taken quite a while to get back up and running. I'm sorry for those of you who were inconvenienced. It's really unfortunate that there are people out there who get their thrills from harming others and wreaking havoc on the innocent web site owners. It's also against the law.

Grant Barnhart a hit at OKOK Gallery

Over at the Seattle Times, Sheila Farr says, "It's not often you get to see a star being born, but if you stop by Grant Barnhart's show "Remember Me When" at Ballard's OKOK Gallery, you just may be able to look back someday and say you were there when."

Writing for the Seattle P.I., Regina Hackett isn't quite as enthusiastic but says, "If Barack Obama had not won the election, these paintings would be unendurable. Barnhart paints inside the crass and exuberant American experience. What could easily be kitsch is a tragedy with a tidal-wave pull. Resistance is futile." Shown at the right is his How to Break the Moon.
