Opening today in a reception from 4-7pm at the Waterworks Gallery, 315 Argyle Avenue in Friday Harbor, is a show featuring works by Dana Roberts and Elizabeth Bruno. Bruno, based in the Seattle area, paints stories that gathered over time reflect many periods in the artworld. A bit old fashioned in styling, the work itself makes a contemporary statement with her subject manner – woman at work, birds singing, dogs walking and lots of rabbits. Roberts, based on San Juan Island, describes her work a painted while unconscious. She does not think about what she is painting, but rather just paints her emotions, her thoughts or even the weather. The show runs through October 15. Shown: Sit by Elizabeth Bruno.
